Righty-o.
This blog is going to outline my transition of leaving the UK (my home of 13 years) and moving to Dubai (the “Las Vegas of the Middle East” – but without the gambling) as an expat Aussie.
It’s going to be challenging – leaving my friends (the family I have chosen for myself) and life behind, starting from scratch somewhere new. Admittedly, I’ve done it before – as a wide eyed 21 year old Aussie chick, landing solo in London and finding my way (another story!)….but somehow I think as a nearly 34 year old kidult with grown up hang ups like owning a flat, a ‘real’ job and a hybrid accent it’s going to be a bit different.
My husband PD is also making the leap, so this should be the beginning of a beautiful new chapter in our three year marriage.
Stay tuned for updates on the move itself.
I leave London on the 14th August, PD leaves on the 4th September. T – minus 27 days and counting!!
